Trout Fishery

The
Watermark has become famous for its crystal clear water and high
quality fish we grow onsite in our own spring-fed stock ponds. The
high flow rate in these ponds ensure the fish are almost wild, which
means a 4lb minimum leader due to the fighting ability of these
pristine fish. This is an ideal stalking waterand is one of the
best dry fly lake fisheries in the area.
Tactics
Through the Seasons
April
- June
The buzzer fishing is second to none. Try a superglue
buzzer in size 12 or even 10 on a 12-14ft leader, fished figure
of eight. Look out for the green drakes in May, with lures always
a good bet on intermediate and fast-sinking lines.
July
- September
The fishery is blessed with deep, cold spring-fed
water. If the weater warms up, you need to go deep. Try a boobie
nymph, or a large lure and you will consistantly find hard-fighting
silver fish throughout the season.
October
- April
A variet of lures on intermediate and sinking
lines are deadly. Just remember - brown trout must be returned out
of season.
